Fayette County High receives special flag

Students and faculty at Fayette County High were recently presented with an American flag that was flown over the Al Faw Palace, home of the Multi National Forces Iraq and headquarters to General David Patreus, commander of the Multi National Force Iraq.

Lieutenant Colonel Jeff Garrott, deputy director of Commercialization serving with the 335th Signal Command, brought the flag with him when he returned home from a tour in Iraq. It was flown over the palace on Veteran’s Day 2007 in honor of Garrott’s daughter, Emily, and Fayette County High and is dedicated to any parent, student or faculty member who has or will serve in the United States Armed Forces.
