Public hearing to be held in Harris County regarding hunting regulationsThu, 04/03/2008 - 5:22pm

SOCIAL CIRCLE, Ga. (April 1, 2008) — The Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Wildlife Resources Division (WRD) will hold a public hearing affording the public an opportunity to provide input on proposed hunting regulations for doves, wildlife management areas, and State Parks. The purpose of the proposed regulation changes is to manage Georgia’s game birds and game animals according to sound principles of wildlife management and to meet public objectives for use of these renewable natural resources. The public hearing is scheduled for 7 p.m. on April 15, 2008, at the Harris County Middle School, 184 South College Street, in Hamilton, Ga. Those interested are encouraged to bring this meeting to the attention of others that also may be interested in participating. Any participant at a hearing may present data, make a statement or comment, or offer a viewpoint or argument, either orally or in writing. Statements should be concise to permit everyone an opportunity to speak. Participants must register on arrival and notify the registering official of their intent to give a statement. Those unable to attend may submit written statements electronically through the WRD website at www.gohuntgeorgia.com or by mail prior to close of business May 2, 2008.
