James Thomas Hudson, 75, Newnan, died March 18, 2008. He was born Sept. 1, 1932 in Coweta County, son of the late John and Rosa Hudson. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Duria Hudson Joe Hudson, and Willie L. Hudson, and a sister, Inez Almond. In 1955 he married Elizabeth Steagall and to this union five children were born. In 1990 he married Carey Rogers. He was a member of the Powell Chapel United Methodist Church where he served as chairman of the administrative board, a Sunday School teacher, member of the church development committee for the LaGrange District, and active with the United Methodist Men. He loved following the youth of the church, and was a member of the Board of Directors at C.A.F.I , and member of the AmVets Post 910 - Buffalo Soldiers. His motto was "may the work I've done speak for me." He was employed with Playtex Corporation for many years and was a licensed electrician and plumber. Services were at the Powell Chapel United Methodist Church with interment at Holly Hill Cemetery, Fairburn. Survivors include children, Gary Hudson, Randolph Hudson, James Edward Hudson, and Carolyn Hudson, all of Newnan, and Danny and Yasmin Hudson, Stockbridge; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Willie Steagall, Leroy Steagall, Jimmie and Rochelle Steagall, Henderson and Doris Steagall Jr., Kenneth Steagall, Carl and Josephine Steagall, Cincinnati, and Eddie Steagall, Newnan; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Hudson, Maude Hudson, and Susie Hudson, all of Newnan, and Dorothy Smith, Stone Mountain.
