Fayette Coweta Family Theatre, Inc. will hold open auditions for Disney's spectacular Teen Musical for ages 10 through adults on Saturday, April 19. All principle roles are available and will be cast from the open audition. Callbacks are scheduled for Sunday, April 20 from 2 to 5 for all roles. Performers from ages 10 to 12 years will be auditioning for ensemble roles with those 13 to adults auditioning for leads, supporting and ensemble roles. Auditions will consist of a taught song from the show, a taught dance combination and cold readings from the script. Only those being considered for speaking roles will be asked to read from the script. Auditions will be held at the FCFT Warehouse at 177 Fulton Court in Peachtree City. Ages 10 to 12 years should arrive at 10:30 a.m. with ages 13 to adults arriving at 2:00 p.m. Because of the popularity of this production, please plan to be at auditions for at least 2 hours. Also, please make arrangements to be available for callbacks on Sunday, April 20 from 2 to 5 p.m. if you are asked to return. (Not being able to make callbacks will hurt your chances of being cast. Not everyone who gets cast in the show will be asked to return on Sunday.) Rehearsals will run weekends only until after graduation. To view the rehearsal schedule please visit www.fcft.net/HSMRehearsals. The production is scheduled for June 18-22 at F.A. Sams Auditorium in Fayetteville and production information can be found at www.fcft.net/HSM. FCFT will also offer 3 Audition Workshops~ High School Musical Editions. These shops will teach participants all the aspects of a proper audition and how to present yourself in the best possible light. Classes will end with an actual mock audition using the dance, song and script from "High School Musical." This is a wonderful class to help performers feel more prepared for any audition, but especially FCFT's upcoming "High School Musical." Classes will be offered Tuesday, April 15 or Thursday, April 17 or Friday, April 18 from 5 to 8 p.m. each evening for ages 10 to 15 years. The fee for this class is $55.00 and preregistration is required. Shops fill up fast, so register early to secure your space.
