Mr. and Mrs. Kyle Bartels of Peachtree City announce the engagement of their daughter, Erin Diane, to Jonathan Paul Nichols, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Nichols of Crosswicks, N.J.

The bride is a graduate of McIntosh High School and the University of Richmond, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in English and German with a minor in history. She currently is a graduate student in the English department at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

The groom also is a graduate of the University of Richmond, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in leadership studies with a minor in political science. He is an insurance underwriter for James River Insurance Company in Richmond, Va.

A June wedding is planned. Following the wedding, the couple will live in Chapel Hill, N.C.
