As it embarks on the most growth-oriented period in the company’s history, Pathway Communities has recruited Curtis Smith, one of Atlanta’s most experienced real estate executives, to help the company expand more rapidly throughout the Atlanta region.
As vice president of residential development, Smith will be responsible for coordinating all activities related to builder services and community development.
For nearly 20 years, Smith has held various positions in the real estate industry. Most recently, he held the post of group vice president at SunTrust Bank where he managed real estate finance for residential construction lending in south metro Atlanta.
“From mortgage banking to construction, Curtis has a thorough understanding of the real estate market,” said Doug Mitchell, founder and CEO of Pathway Communities. “He has proven that he can make things happen on a large scale, and we believe he is perfectly suited to guide our development efforts across the Atlanta region.”
“Just as importantly,” Mitchell asserted, “Curtis shares our vision for multifaceted residential development and also has a firm grasp on the broader issues of overall economic development and land planning. His approach to development is a perfect match for our philosophy of creating quality living environments, rather than just building homes.”
Smith looks forward to his new responsibilities and opportunities at Pathway Communities. “Pathway Communities is known throughout the Unites States for its progressive-thinking development efforts,” said Smith. “I have long admired what the company has accomplished and look forward to being a part of its continued success in the Atlanta area.”
Pathway Communities is the developer of Peachtree City, one of the most successful master- planned communities in the United States. In addition to Peachtree City, Pathway is currently developing six master-planned communities across the Atlanta area: Lake Forest and Lake Astoria in Forsyth County, SummerGrove and Avery Park in Coweta County, Monarch Village in Henry County and The Peninsula in Fayette County.
