Islamic assembly was not example of ‘bad timing’

I read your newspaper regularly. It gives me lot of information and news of Fayette County. Being a resident of the beautiful city of Peachtree City, I am very much interested about the happenings in the county.

The headline, “Bad Timing For Islam Assembly,” on the front page of Nov. 23 issue attracted me this morning and I read it immediately.

To tell you the truth I don’t see any bad timing in the White Water Middle School 7th grade students listening to a speaker about one of the three biblical religions of the world.

The Veterans Day is observed on its own importance. The school must be discussing the world religions and they happened to be talking about Islam.

By teaching our children about the major religions of the world, we will be training them from a young age how to react and how to live with the people of other faiths. This school has sent a letter home with the students about this talk a day before the talk.

I strongly disagree with your news article.
