Harris named STAR studentWed, 03/26/2008 - 10:56am

Michael Hollis Harris has been named the STAR Student for Starr’s Mill High School. Each year a top academic senior in each participating Georgia high school is named the STAR student for that high school. To obtain the STAR nomination, students must have the highest score in one sitting on the three-part SAT taken through the December test date of their senior year and be in the top 10 percent or top 10 students of their class based on grade point average. Each high school STAR student is asked to name his/her STAR teacher. Harris chose as his STAR teacher Kathy McGrath, his AP Statistics teacher his sophomore year at Starr’s Mill. A STAR student banquet was hosted by the Fayette County Kiwanis Club on Feb. 26, to recognize the five Fayette County high school STAR students and teachers. Harris is the son of David and Leigh Ann Harris of Fayetteville, and the grandson of Joyce and Hollis Harris of Peachtree City and Betty Bailey Mayfield of Fayetteville. login to post comments |
