Duffie Hardin Lawler, formerly of Macon, died March 9, 2008 in Valdosta, after an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don J. Lawler, Gifford, Iowa. She attended St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Fayetteville, and Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Peachtree City. Services were at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Macon with interment at Andersonville National Cemetery, Andersonville, Ga. Survivors include a sister, Fran Bragg, Gray, Ga.; children, Terry and Gail Lawler, College Park, Trish and John Jones, Lakeland, Ga., Genelle and Bob Pope, Hawkinsville, John and Lynn Lawler, Peachtree City, and Linda and Gary Clark, Lakeland, Fla.; six grandchildren, all residing in Georgia; two nephews; one niece; and two grand-nieces. Memorial donations may be made to Holy Spirit Catholic Church building fund, the Hospice Home of South Georgia, or the American Cancer Society.
