Mildred H. Mason, 98, Palmetto, formerly of Long Beach, Miss., died March 15, 2008. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Effie Pepper Hollingsworth, and her husband, Lloyd Coats. She was born in Athens, Ala. and was a retired bookkeeper for several organizations. She was a member of the Newnan Church of Christ. She was an avid needle pointer and doll collector.

Graveside services were at Maplewood Cemetery, Pulaski, Tenn, with Frank Hollingsworth of Nashville, officiating. Survivors include a son, Col. Charles and Diane Gardner USA, retired, Newnan; grandchildren, Melissa Ricchiuti and Tiffany Parker, both of Newnan, and Kayle Gardner, Arcadia, Fla.; and great-grandson, Nikolas Ricchiuti.

Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home, Peachtree City, was in charge.
