Holy Week for most Christians began last Sunday with Palm Sunday and will continue and culminate this weekend with Easter, the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus. Many observe other holy days during this special week and have announced their services and events occurring through Easter Sunday.

The traditional Community Good Friday service in Peachtree City this year is being hosted by Holy Trinity Catholic Church at noon on March 21. Worshipers may come and go as their work schedules permit. Holy Trinity is on the corner of Walt Banks Road and Ga. Hwy. 54.

All Saints Anglican Church on Kelly Drive in Peachtree City will have a Maundy Thursday Service on March 20, with Holy Communion at 7 p.m.
On Good Friday, March 21, a service will be held at 7 p.m.
On Holy Saturday, March 22, the church will host an 8 a.m. Morning Prayer Service and an 8 p.m. Easter Vigil.

Atlanta City Church will celebrate Easter on two campuses, one in Fairburn and another in Peachtree City. Brooks United Methodist Church will host a Maundy Thursday Communion Service Thursday, March 20, at 7 p.m. A Good Friday Service is scheduled for March 21 at 7 p.m.
All children in the community are invited to the annual Easter celebration on Saturday, March 22 from 3-5 p.m. Children through fifth grade will enjoy an Easter egg hunt, inflatable play area, crafts, and snacks. Adam Komesar will perform with his comedy, magic, and balloons.
Easter Sunrise Services begin at 7 a.m. with a community breakfast immediately following at Hardy Hall (sponsored by the Christian Church this year).

Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Peachtree City will have a Maundy Thursday Service on March 20 at 12:15 p.m. at the church and at 7 p.m. at First Presbybterian Church on Willowbend Road, with combined choirs and all pastors leading the service.
Members of Christ Our Shepherd will join other members of the community for the Community Good Friday Service at noon at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Also on Friday, the Cross Walk procession, the carrying of three large crosses, will start at Christ Our Shepherd and end at Picnic Park.
Friday evening at 8 p.m., the church will host a Tenebrae Service built around the Requiem by Gabriel Fauré. The Sanctuary Choir will sing the Requiem, conducted by James C. Hagberg, and accompanied by an instrumental ensemble and harp.
From Friday, March 21 through Sunday, March 23, there will be a Prayer Vigil at the church, except during The Vigil of Easter worship at 7 p.m. Saturday, featuring lessons and hymns.
On Easter Sunday, March 23, a Sunrise Service, planned and led by the youth, will be held at 7 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Peachtree City United Methodist Church’s Holy Week schedule includes a Maundy Thursday service and Easter Sunday services at both campuses. The church will participate in the community Good Friday Service on March 21 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church on Walt Banks Road at Ga. Hwy. 54.
The Maundy Thursday Service on March 20 will include a Communion and Healing Service at 7 p.m. at the 225 Robinson Road Worship Center.

Providence United Methodist Church will host a Maundy Thursday Service Thursday, March 20th. The hour-long event begins promptly at 7 p.m. and will include four dramatic portrayals of people whose lives were affected by Jesus, followed by music and Holy Communion. Childcare is provided for children unable to sit quietly throughout the service. Those attending are advised to arrive early as there will be no late admittance due to the reverence of the service.
Easter Sunday worship will begin with a Sunrise Service at 7:30 a.m. followed by coffee and donuts in the new Connection Cafe. There will be identical traditional worship services at 8:45 and 11:11 a.m. and contemporary worship at 10 a.m. All services will be full of music, celebration and praise.

South Metro Ministries, a Church of God congregation near Thomas Crossroads in Coweta County, will offer three services on Easter Sunday morning, at 8, 9:15 and 11 a.m. Special music will be performed by the Sanctuary Choir and Holy Communion will be observed. Southside Baptist Church in Fayettevile will host a free community cookout and Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, March 22, beginning at 11 a.m. Children should bring their own baskets or bags. More than 1,000 candy-filled eggs will be available. Free hot dogs, slaw, chips, drinks and desserts will be available following the egg hunt. A hay ride will be held during the day and the Easter Rabbit will make an appearance.
On Easter Sunday morning, Sunday school will be held at 10 a.m. and Easter worship will be at 10:45. Southside Baptist is at 1332 Ga. Hwy. 92 South, Fayetteville, a mile and a half south of the Fayetteville city limits.

Saint Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Newnan will have Holy Thursday Mass and Celebration of the Lord’s supper at 7 p.m. on March 20.
On Good Friday, March 21, Stations of the Cross at St. Mary’s will be observed at 3 p.m. and Celebration of the Lord’s Passion at 7 p.m.
Easter Vigil services will begin Saturday, March 22, at 8:30 p.m. and will begin outside in darkness and end with an entry in a circle of lighted fire.
Easter Sunday Masses on March 23 will be celebrated at 7:30 and 9:30 a.m. and at noon. The church is off Ebenezer Church Road and Ga. Hwy. 154 near the fire station, slighly more than a mile south of Thomas Crossroads.

St. Paul Lutheran Church will have a Maundy Thursday service March 20 at 7 p.m. in the Worship Center (gym). A Good Friday service will be held at noon in the cafeteria and again at 7 p.m. in the Worship Center (two services).
An Easter Egg Hunt for the children is planned for Easter Saturday, March 22, at 10:30 a.m. at the lower level entrance of the church.

On Saturday, March 22, from 1 - 4 p.m., an “Easter Community Celebration” will be sponsored at the church. Some of the events will be an Easter Hunt, games, food, giant slides and rides, and other activities, all at no cost.

Woolsey Baptist Church will host a “He Is Alive Celebration” on Saturday, March 22, from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. This is a free, community-wide event.
Two separate Easter Egg Hunts begin at 11:30 a.m. for pre-schoolers and older children, respectively. A special adult Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled for 1:15 p.m. with more than $1,500 in prizes awarded. The prize egg winner will receive $100. These prizes were donated by area businesses.
Children’s activities will include facepainting, games and inflatables. Other events and activities include a hot dog cook-out, music, an appearance by the Chick-Fil-A Cow and a live remote broadcast by J93.3.
