James G. Harper, 94, Fayetteville, died March 16, 2008. He was born Feb. 15, 1914 in Fayette County, son of Sylvester Quigg and Georgia Hitchcock Harper. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evlyn Spangler Harper. He left in the 1920s to go to Florida where he was a master craftsman and an avid sportsman. He returned to Fayetteville after retirement. No local services are planned at this time. His body was cremated and his ashes were spread over Biscayne Bay in Miami, Fla. Survivors include a daughter, Lisa and Harold Markley, Fayetteville; grandson, Trent and Guoda Scott, Lithuania; a granddaughter, Tiffany Stephens, Fayetteville; and great-grandchildren, Roanin, and Urte. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
