Ruby Lee "Momma Ruby" Jones, 83, Fayetteville, died March 12, 2008. She was born June 18, 1924 in Canton, Ga., the third of five children born to Luther O. and Ollie Mae McCollum Dickerson. She and her husband had lived in College Park for many years and moved to Fayetteville in 1986. She had worked for several years in the cloth and fabric business and enjoyed sewing for herself and others. She loved to plan large family gatherings to keep the family close. God, the church and her family were her life. Services were at the McDonough Road Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. David Chancy, the Rev. Dr. J. W. Wallace, and the Rev. Dr. David Smith officiating. Interment was at College Park Cemetery. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Claude R. Jones; sons, Fred N. Jones, Philip M. and Jenny Jones; a daughter, Rhonda R. and Stephen Baggett; grandsons, Kyle and Jamie Baggett; granddaughters, Ashley and Brian Taylor, Ansley and Cary Goen, and Amanda Jones; a great-grandson, Greyson Goen; and great-granddaughters, Ellie and Anabelle Taylor. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge. login to post comments |
