Senoia McDonald’s celebrates opening with family fun, parade

McDonald’s Chief Happiness Officer, Ronald McDonald, will serve as grand marshall of the McDonald’s Family Fun Day Parade on Saturday, March 29 in Senoia. A portion of Ga. Highway 16, between Broad Street and Ga. Highway 85, will be temporarily closed between 1 and 1:30 p.m. in observance of the parade.

The day long-event is a grand opening celebration of the new McDonald’s in Senoia, located at 2907 Ga. Hwy. 85. The day’s festivities will take place on the parking lot of the Senoia McDonald’s.

At 10:30 a.m. attendees will be provided with free health screenings (blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol and body fat) and free spinal health screenings while a live DJ will play music and give away prizes.

Beginning at 11 a.m., kids will have access to free face painting and arts & crafts as well as Touch-A-Truck and free safety demonstrations. At noon, a dance contest and dance performances will get underway, leading up to the McDonald’s Family Fun Day Parade at 1 p.m.

The store will have their ribbon cutting at 1:45 p.m. and the Ronald McDonald Show will begin at 2 p.m.

Community groups are invited to register for the McDonald’s Family Fun Day Parade. For an application, e-mail your group name and contact information to mcdonaldsforyou@bellsouth.net or call 770-487-2670. A $300 cash donation will be made to the largest group participating in the parade.
