Getting a first-hand look at government

Two 4-H members from Coweta County were among more than 350 4-H’ers that participated in 4-H Day at the Capitol on February 11. Ethan Robertson, a homeschool student, and Amber Willis, a student at Smokey Road Middle School, were both excited to assist as pages for the day. Ethan represented Senator Mitch Seabaugh and Amber supported Representative Billy Horne.

As a page they helped their representative or senator by taking notes onto the House Floor from lobbyists, constituents or other officials. Each 4-H student received a photo with their representative or senator and $10 for their day’s assistance. This is an opportunity available to all youth 12 years and older throughout the state of Georgia and a great way to experience the Capitol. Photo/Special.
