Fayette-Starr's Mill DAR’s library display

Recently, the Fayette-Starr’s Mill Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution placed a display in the Peachtree City Library Children’s Department celebrating the Georgia signers of the Declaration of Independence as well as the African Americans who were part of the American Revolution.

The display included biographies of the signers and questions on which patrons could test themselves after reading the information on the board. In addition some little known facts about the time period and some of the African Americans involved in the war was included. One interesting person was Prince Whipple who is a black man shown in the famous picture of Washington crossing the Delaware. Patrons also received an American Revolution bookmark.

Shown with the exhibit are Rosemary Norris (Fayette-Starr’s Mill Chapter), Susan Tanner and Janice Dukes (Peachtree City Library). Photo/Special.
