Churches plan Easter Egg Hunts for area childrenTue, 03/11/2008 - 2:28pm

Many churches in the Fayette area will offer Easter Festivals and Easter Egg hunts during the week preceding Easter Sunday. • Peachtree City First Presbyterian Church will host an Easter Breakfast and Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, March 22. Breakfast and crafts will be from 9 -11:30 a.m., with the egg hunt starting at 11:45 a.m. For more information contact First Presbyterian Church, 206 Willowbend Rd, Peachtree City, 770-487-7757. Participants are asked to furnish their own baskets and RSVP by March 16. • St Paul Lutheran Church in Peachtree City will have an Easter Egg Hunt for the children on Easter Saturday, March 22, at 10:30 a.m. at the lower level entrance of the church. The church is on Ardenlee Parkway in Peachtree City. • Woolsey Baptist Church will host a “He Is Alive Celebration” on the campus of the church Saturday, March 22, from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. This is a free, community-wide event. Two separate Easter Egg Hunts begin at 11:30 a.m. for pre-schoolers and older children, respectively. And, there will be a special adult Easter Egg Hunt at 1:15 p.m. More than $1,500 worth of prizes will be awarded for the adult Easter Egg Hunt. The prize egg winner will receive $100. Prizes were donated by area businesses. Children’s activities will include facepainting, games and inflatables. Also, there will be a hot dog cook-out and music, the Chick-fil-A Cow will be there, and J93.3 will do a live remote broadcast. Woolsey Baptist Church is at 115 Hampton Road in Fayetteville. Dogwood Church is on Ga. Hwy. 74 in Tyrone. • New Hope Baptist Church will have an Easter Eggstravaganza Saturday, March 22, from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m.at New Hope Baptist Church, South, 1563 Hwy. 74 South, Senoia. Events and activities will include Breakfast with the Pastor, Egg Hunts for children ages 2 through fifth grade, inflatables, prizes, face painting, clowns, and story time. There is no cost except for food: $1 for children; $2 for adults • Liberty Baptist Church will have a Community Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, March 22 at 10 a.m. Children are invited to bring their Easter baskets for an egg hunt, snow cones and fun. Liberty is at 1077 Ga.Hwy. 314 in Fayette County. For more information call 770-461-5644. • Brooks United Methodist Church invites all children in the community to its annual Easter celebration Saturday, March 22 from 3-5 p.m. Children through 5th grade can participate in an Easter Egg Hunt, inflatable play area, crafts, and snacks.
