The McIntosh boys lacrosse team hosted Alpharetta on Thursday afternoon in a battle between highly ranked and undefeated teams. McIntosh was ranked second and Alpharetta was ranked fourth.

The game was hotly contested and McIntosh had a number of leads throughout but lost in the closing minutes 8-7.

Caleb Benson led the Chiefs with four goals, while Nico DeRosa added two goals and Brennan Ott scored one.

The fourth quarter served as a perfect example why these two teams are so highly ranked, as each team exchanged two goals a piece in the span of 1:08 seconds.

“We just had a hard time finding the back of the net tonight,” said McIntosh coach Mike Meutzel. “Their goalie played well and they made the most of their opportunities.”

Muetzel praised the play of his defense and keeper Andrew Huffman.
