Richard Harley Long, 81, Newnan, died Feb. 28, 2008. He was born Oct. 20, 1926 in Coweta County to the late Richard and May Cavender Long. He was retired from the Coweta County School system where he had been in the facilities maintenance department. Services were at the Newnan First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Med Roach officiating. Interment was at Oak Hill Cemetery, Newnan.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Curtis Hight Long, Newnan; daughters, Janet Long Morgan and Carolyn Long Nash, both of Fayetteville; grandchildren, John Paul Morgan, Elizabeth Morgan, Benjamin Nash and Jennifer Nash Wilkerson; a great-grandchild, Kylie Nash; a brother, Clifford Garland Long; and sisters, Linda Long Morgan and Nellie Jo Long Colbert. Memorial donations may be made to The American Heart Association, 1101 Northchase Pkwy., Ste. 1, Marietta, GA 30067.
