It may be small by some standards, but it is one more occasion where drugs are taken off the street. A buy-bust on Ga. Highway 54 and McDonough Road last week resulted in the arrest of two Fayetteville men. Arron Perry, 20, and Timmie Jackson, 25, were charged with sale of marijuana and sale of MDMA, or Ecstasy, according to Fayette Drug Task Force (DTF) Lt. Jody Thomas. Jackson was also wanted on a city probation violation, Thomas said. The arrest occurred Feb. 26 when undercover agents met the two men at the Pit Stop on Hwy. 54 and arranged to purchase the drugs, said Thomas. Perry and Jackson left the location and returned later with the drugs and were arrested, said Thomas. The arrests also resulted in the seizure of the vehicle used to transport the drugs, he said. Jackson in recent weeks had been a contract worker in The Citizen’s distribution operation. login to post comments |
