This weekend families will have the opportunity to spend quality time together, have some fun and learn a little all the while. Fayette Coweta Family Theatre’s professional touring troupe, A Company of Friends Educational Productions, has been busy touring the musical “School House Rock Live Jr.” to schools and venues across Georgia and now they will be performing locally for the community. Songs like “Conjunction Junction” and “InterPlanet Janet” will bring back long-ago memories for parents, and will entertain the young ones in tow as well. This 50-minute, energy packed performance has been met with audience cheers and teacher accolades for its colorful and professional presentation and ability to teach children through fun and upbeat songs and situations. Based on the popular cartoon television series of the late 1970s and early 1980s, “School House Rock” makes learning a game. The show encourages audiences to “Do The Circulation” and “Unpack Your Adjectives” as they learn about grammar, math, government, history, health, the solar system and more. Public performances of this show will be held Saturday, March 8 at 2 and 4 p.m. and Sunday, March 9 at 3 and 5 p.m. at the Fayette Family YMCA Lodge House Theatre, 215 Huiet Drive in Fayetteville. Ticket prices are $5 each. Seating is very limited, so making reservations for the show of your choice is highly suggested. To make a reservation, call 770-251-7611 or visit www.fcft.net/HomePage. Souvenirs and goodies will be sold before the show and at intermission. login to post comments |
