Dr. Albert Yu, 71, Fayetteville, died Feb. 29, 2008. He was a lieutenant colonel in the United States Army in Vietnam, serving in the medical corps. He served as general surgeon for over 30 years at Southern Regional Medical Center, and at one time was the chief of staff for the hospital. He was a member of the Southeastern Bluegrass Association. Memorial services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with Pastor John Weber officiating. Survivors include his wife, Judy Yu, Fayetteville; daughters, Michelle and Jerry Robison, Chattanooga, Tenn., and Joanna and Richard Lacey, Charleston, S.C.; grandchildren, Alex Robison, Tori Robison, and Claire Lacey; a sister, Loreta and Siano Chan, Riverdale, and a brother and two sisters in the Philippines. Memorial donations may be made to The American Lung Association, 2452 Spring Road, Smyrna, GA 30080. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
