Tyrone Planning commissioners Dec. 29 agreed to give their approval to the site plan that will establish more than 10,000 square feet of office space in the Market Hill development on Ga. Highway 74. A project of developer TCG Holdings, LLC, the 10,303 square-foot building will sit adjacent to Hwy. 74 in the development, located at the southwest corner of Hwy. 74 and Dogwood Trail. The two-story structure will provide offices for Countrywide Home Loans. The site will be situated on 1.473 acres and will provide parking for 44 vehicles. Town Manager Barry Amos said the project designer should evaluate the buffer area prior to submitting landscape plans. Also at the meeting, commissioners approved a variance request for the setback at a new building to be constructed for A Abby Lawn Care in Shamrock Industrial Park. After a discussion with owner Michael Leedy, the board agreed to a 40-foot setback on the corner lot adjacent to Leedy’s current building. He requested the variance for the lot along Dublin Court rather than sticking with the normal 70-foot requirement because it would provide for a larger number of parking spaces for employees once the new building is completed. Leedy offered, and the board agreed, to eliminate some of the area designated for parking on the Shamrock Industrial side of the property so that a larger area could be utilized for landscaping. Commenting on the aesthetic qualities that could be incorporated on the corner lot, Leedy said his business was landscaping and he was committed to a quality enhancement of the area around his business, a benefit both for his customers and for the overall aesthetics of the industrial park area. login to post comments |
