The Landmark Christian School War Eagles varsity basketball team played in the Deep South Classic over Christmas break. In the first round of play, Landmark fell in a close game to East Anchorage Alaska High School (alma mater of Duke University Player of the Year and All-American Trajden Langden). In the second round, Landmark defeated Northridge High School of Tuscaloosa, Ala, scoring a season high 60 points and holding Northridge to a season low 46. In the final game, Landmark played Spruce Creek High School from south Florida and lost by 13 after cutting the margin to three points going into the fourth quarter. Stoney Hill averaged 15 points per contest and had a double-double in all three games.

The Lady War Eagles varsity basketball team competed in the Sweet South Basketball Classic in Watkinsville during the Christmas holiday, and played very well. They opened with a 53-45 win over Kennesaw Mountain, a AAAAA team, before falling to Oconee County 50-38 and losing to Alexander, a AAAA team, 63-56 in overtime with two starters fouled out and another player out with injury.

Junior Christian Hunnicutt tallied 69 points during tournament play and Kelsey Knapp and Diamond Hunnicutt scored 38 and 32 respectively. The Lady War Eagles are now 7-6 for the season as they begin play in region 5-A. Senior Co-Captain Andrea Fergus continues to recover from successful surgery and is hoping to rejoin the team before the region tournament.
