Clifford Stapler, 68, Fayetteville, died Feb. 22, 2008. He was born March 17, 1939 in Coweta County. He was preceded in death by grandchildren, Katlyn and Colby Payne, and son-in-law, Lance Payne. Services were at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark Westmoreland, the Rev. Sam Matthews, and the Rev. Searcy Jackson officiating. Interment was at Oak Hill Cemetery, Newnan.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara "Jean" Stapler, Fayetteville; children, Carol and Don Yancey, and Donna Payne, all of Newnan, and Doug and Charolotte Stapler, Eatonton; brothers, Dennis Ray and Sharon Stapler, Newell, W. Va., and Charles E. and Beverly Stapler, Newnan; a sister, Janice Stapler Sibley, Moreland; grandchildren, David Yancey, Tiffany Yancey McComas, Terri Stapler Browning, Jerry Stapler, Rachel Jones, Jessica Jones, Ashley Luckie, and Blake Payne; and six great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to The Shriners Children's Hospital, in care of Yarab Shrine, 400 Ponce de Leon Ave. NE, Atlanta, GA 30308. Parrott Funeral Home, Fairburn, was in charge.
