It took a little time but Tyrone Police got their man. Deshawn Davis, 20, of an unknown address, was charged Feb. 11 in the Sept. 16 burglary of the Shell convenience store on Senoia Road, according to Tyrone Police spokesperson Alicia Batts.

Davis, who was already in Fayette County Jail on burglary charges stemming from a Feb. 9 burglary elsewhere in Fayette County, was identified by Det. Adam Castings after the detective saw the booking photo and compared it to those obtained in the Shell burglary, Batts said.

“It appeared to be an exact match so Det. Castings obtained a warrant on Mr. Davis,” she said.

An undisclosed number of lottery tickets were removed from the store in the early morning hours Sept. 16 after entry had been gained by smashing through the glass in the store’s front door.
