Lee W. "Bill" Burroughs, 85, Peachtree City, died Feb. 12, 2008. He was born June 27, 1922 in Jackson County, Ga., the oldest child of the late James Edgar and Woody Cleo Burroughs. He was a veteran of the United States Navy during World War II and a retiree of the United States Civil Service. He was an active member of St. Andrew's in-the-Pines Episcopal Church in Peachtree City. Memorial services were at St. Andrew's in-the-Pines with the Rev. Paul Elliott officiating. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Elsie Maddox Burroughs, Peachtree City; a son, David and Kristy Burroughs, Greer, S. C.; a daughter, Patricia and Tony Mitchell, Peachtree City; grandchildren, Edward H. Phillips III, Ashley and Mike Feuvrel, Rebecca Hodges, and Anna and Abby Burroughs; step-great-grandchilden, Christian and Nicholas Feuvrel; siblings, Geneva and Harold Compton, Decatur, Ga., Marvin and Merle Burroughs, Nicholson, Ga., James Burroughs, Sewell, N. J., Catherine Blanchard, Chauvin, La., John A. and Cindy Burroughs, Jacksonville, Fla., and Elizabeth Brewer, Commerce, Ga. Memorial donations may be made to St. Andrew's in-the-Pines Episcopal Church, or Healthfield Hospice of Riverdale. The Cremation Society of the South at Eagles Landing was in charge.
