On Thursday, the Fayetteville City Council will get a look at a proposed concept plan that would locate nearly 89,000 of retail at The Villages. The council will also consider a bid award for improvements to Pye Lake Dam. Under new business, the council will hear a proposed concept plan for construction of six retail buildings totaling nearly 89,000 square feet at The Villages on Ga. Highway 54 West. The 13.7-acre site is located between Meeting Place Drive and Lafayette Avenue. The proposal marks a decrease in the amount of retail space approved in a 2000 agreement. Also at the meeting, council members will consider a bid award for improvements to Pye Lake Dam. The three lowest of the 13 bids submitted ranged from $727,466 to $812,670. The high bid was $1,663,805. The low bid was submitted by North Georgia Concrete. A Pre-disaster Mitigation Grant from Federal Emergency Management Agency will provide 80 percent of the cost with local stormwater management fees accounting for the remaining 20 percent. login to post comments |
