Branden Lewis is one of 500 athletes who will compete at the prestigious 2006 U.S. Army National Combine presented by Reebok. Lewis has been identified as one of the nation’s top underclassmen by the U.S. Army All-American Bowl Selection Committee. The Starr's Mill standout from Peachtree City will participate in the country’s only national combine on January 6-8, 2005 at the Alamodome in San Antonio at the cornerback position. This event will be the largest and most elite gathering of prep football underclassmen of the year.

In its fifth year, the U.S. Army National Combine has become the unofficial kick-off to the recruiting season. Held in conjunction with the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, the combine provides the nation with the first look at the most heavily anticipated athletes. Participants are tested and graded on their performance during traditional combine testing and position specific football drills. Modeled after the NFL Combine, the U.S. Army National Combine also provides participants the opportunity to match-up against the top position players during intense one-on-one and three-on-three competitions.

“This year, the U.S. Army National Combine will be unlike any other event of its kind. Through high intensity football skills drills, combine athletes will have the opportunity to show to the entire high school football community how they measure against the top 500 underclassmen. The U.S. Army All-American Bowl Scouting Committee is very excited to see how Branden will fare against the nation’s best,” said Zach Morolda, director of the U.S. Army National Combine.

During the event, the nation’s top scouts and recruiting analysts will be on hand to conduct player evaluations and interviews. Scout.com, the nation’s number-one independent online recruiting network, will have their scouts on the field throughout the entire event. In addition, Tom Lemming of CSTV and USA Today will conduct a recruiting seminar and provide athletes insight on what to expect from the recruiting process. As in past years, Scout.com and Lemming will use this year’s combine to interview and scout future U.S. Army All-American Bowl prospects. The top prep stars in attendance will also receive recognition on Scout.com and in Lemming’s “Prep Football Report” magazine and begin to position themselves in the race for next year’s recruiting classes.

Combine testing will be conducted by Recruits Unlimited and Velocity Sports Performance.
