Landmark Christian’s Lady War Eagles edged out Southwest Atlanta Christian 61-59 to capture the region 5-A championship Saturday night. Tiffany Hall scored 16 points for Landmark, while teammate Diamond Hunnicutt chipped in 15 points. The Lady War Eagles will host a Class A playoff game next Saturday.

Sandy Creek’s girls lost to Carrollton once again, falling 56-35 in the region 6-AAA title game. The Lady Patriots will host a Class AAA state playoff game next Saturday.

The Sandy Creek boys fell short in their quest for a region title as well. The Patriots lost to Cartersville 68-62. The boys will host a Class AAA state playoff game next Friday.

The Citizen will have state layoff previews this week after the match-ups are announced.
