Our Presidents

Where are we supposed to get these people?
The process can't have much organization---just look at what is left to serve!
Even those cast aside didn't have much for me to consider.
Why don't we let congress elect someone, anybody but a representative or a senator, and then let the Supreme Court approve the selection?
I realize that right now the decision would always be 5 to 4 for or against, depending upon the politics of the candidate.
But, that might change someday if we put in another judge when one or more of them dies. They do die sometimes don't they?
