John Addison “Doc” Lester, 94, Fayetteville,died Feb. 10, 2008. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Addison and Bertha Clyde Graham Lester Sr., his wife, Margret Mann Lester, and a great-grandson, Ennis G. Laney V. He was born and died in the same house. He enjoyed a long career as a farmer, business owner and city manager of Fayetteville. Great plesure was taken in sharing surplus from his garden with many in the community. Services will be Wed., Feb. 13, 2008, 11 a.m., at the Fayetteville First Baptist Church Overton chapel. The Rev. Chris Perkins and the Rev. Glenn Stringham will officiate, with interment at Westminster Gardens Cemetery. Survivors include a son, Addison and Janet Lester, Fayetteville; a daughter, Laurien and Ennis Laney, Fayetteville; grandchildren, Ellen and Brian Jeffers, and Glenn and Dawn Laney, all of Fayetteville, John Lester iV, Senoia, and Adam Lester, Denver, Colo.; great-grandchildren, Anna Jeffers, and Bennett Jeffers, both of Fayetteville; one nephew; and two nieces. Memorial donatons may be made to the Fayetteville First Baptist Church Building Fund. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville,was in charge.
