James Donald Taylor, 67, Jonesboro, died Feb. 7, 2008. He was born April 29, 1940 in Fulton County. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son, James D. Taylor Jr. He was a veteran of the United States Army, retiring as a sergeant after 27 years of service. He was also retired from the City of Atlanta after 21 years of service. Services were at the Conner-Westbury Funeral Home chapel with interment at Brooks Memory Garden, Brooks. Survivors include his wife, Hazel P. Taylor, Jonesboro; children, Susie and Bobby Ison, Brooks, Gregory Scott Taylor, and Kathryn Rhodes, Hampton, Christopher Lynn and Amy Taylor, Jonesboro; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Tommy Taylor, Franklin, N. C., Charles Higginbotham, Hampton, and Billy Swafford, Daytona, Fla.; and a sister, Mary Jennings, Franklin, N.C. Conner-Westbury Funeral Home, Griffin, was in charge.
