Heather Marjorie Percy Story, 87,Fayetteville, died Feb. 2, 2008. She was born March 8, 1920 in Gisborne, New Zealand, where she lived until marrying a Marine from Macon, Ga. In World War II. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas James Story, and a son-in-law, Ted Reagan. She came to the United States by troop ship, crossing the Pacific at war's end in October, 1945, pregnant and with a two-year old daughter. She enjoyed the triumphs and challenges of a Marine Corps wife. They lived primarily in Beaufort, S.C., where she practiced her own profession as an office nurse. Upon retirement they came to the Atlanta area to be near their daughters. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. James Stewart officiating. Interment was at Macon Memorial Park. Survivors include daughters, Dr. Barry and Beth Story Jones, Cumming, and Carolyn Story Reagan, Fayetteville; their children and grandchildren, Marie and Bruce Hays, Jessica, Amelia Ann and Alex, Tim and Pam Reagan, and Brandon, Hansi and Travis, LaRisa and Steve Castro, and Alana and Sara Ahart, Heather and John Bates, and Bryce, Jillian, and Cade, Ted and Heather Reagan, and Maddie and Wilson, and Jason Jones; and relative in New Zealand, brothers, Michael Percy and Bill Percy: and a sister, Caroline Timms. Memorial donations may be made to Healthfield Hospice. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge. login to post comments |
