Evelyn Piper Hamlin, 72, Fayetteville, died Jan. 31, 2008. She was born Aug. 19, 1935 and reared in Dodge County, Ga. She moved to Fayetteville 42 years ago. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Hamlin. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Jim Willis officiating. Interment was at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. Survivors include sons, Randy and Tammy Hamlin, and Billy Hamlin, all of Fayetteville; daughters, Sandy and Gordon Parr, Dallas, Ga., and Angie and Ken Decker, Marietta; grandchildren, Erin and Brian Parr, Jeremy Crook, and Jenna Hamlin; and eight brothers and sisters. Memorial donations may be made to the Fayette Humane Society or Christian City. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
