Emma Wilkes Barron, 94, died Jan. 21, 2008. She was born Feb. 24, 1913 in Dallas, Texas, daughter of the late Roy Lenoir and Anna Josephine Foreman Wilkes. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 74 years, Frank Marion "Bo" Barron, a son-in-law, Robert Lewis Blalock, and a grandson, Frank Marion "Bo" Barron III. In her teen years, the family moved to LaGrange, where she met her future husband. She attended LaGrange Business College and was a secretary at Callaway Mills. She also worked in the adult probation office in Newnan. She was a member of Central Baptist Church and was involved in the life of the church as long as she was able. Services were at Central Baptist Church, Newnan, with the Rev. Joel E. Richardson, and the Rev. Sam Henderson officiating. Interment was at Oak Hill Cemetery, Newnan. Survivors include children, Joanna "Jody" Barron Blalock, Frank Marion and Linda Barron Jr., Laura Barron and Bob Patrick; 11 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
