Joseph Henry Brown, 70, Peachtree City, died Jan. 20, 2008. He was a native of Chester, Pa., where he was graduated from Chester High in 1955. He was preceded in death by his parents, the Rev. Clemie Willie and Estella Kate Brown, and a grandson, Lamar Alison Shannon II. He received his M.S. at the University of Utah in 1975 and worked for over 20 years in Health and Human Services with the Federal government. After retirement in 1988 he worked for several years at the Department of Labor where he was known as "Major Brown." He was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated. Memorial services were at Carmichael-Hemperley chapel with the Rev. Joyce E. Banks officiating.
