New subdivision gets planners’ OK

Senoia’s newest subdivision got its final plat approval from the Senoia Planning Commission Tuesday night.

The Newberry subdivision, which will wrap around the old County Line Tavern on Ga. Highway 85, features 141 lots on 153 acres. The subdivision is being developed by Fayetteville-based developer Bob Rolader. Newberry also features 80 acres of open space and 4.5 acres of commercial property on Hwy.85.

Rolader appeared before the Planning Commission and said he didn’t know when the new subdivision would move forward.

“We’re not moving any dirt in any of our developments right now. We’re just making sure that all the paperwork is done and we’re ready to go when the housing market comes back,” he said.

The commissioners hoped that Rolader could start soon, so the former County Line Tavern, along with a sofa that sits in front of the building would be removed.

Senoia city administrator Richard Ferry told the commission that a development agreement also needed to be approved that would outline Rolader’s commitment to helping explore well sites on the property, along with providing multi-use paths in the development.

The Planning Commission approved the plat and agreement unanimously.
