• Dyer assumes new rank United States Air Force Major Todd Dyer assumed his new rank on Jan. 1 during ceremonies at Vance AFB, Okla., where he is stationed as an instructor pilot in the Introduction to Fighter Fundamentals course. Dyer, a 1994 graduate of McIntosh High School, is a F-15E pilot with two tours of duty during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He and his wife, Katie, and their two daughters reside in nearby Enid, Okla. He is the son of retired Air Force Lt. Col. Les Dyer and Connie Dyer of Peachtree City. • Dodson makes SGC dean’s list Fayette County resident Cody S. Dodson has been named to the dean’s list for the 2007 fall semester at South Georgia College. Dodson is one of 134 South Georgia College students to be named to the list. Students on the dean’s list attained a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, carried at least 12 hours of academic work and have exempted all learning support requirements. • PTC DAR celebrates anniversary The Peachtree City Fayette-Starr's Mill Chapter members celebrated the third anniversary of the Chapter Charter in December with a dessert buffet and a social evening. Hostess was Judy Hughes. The chapter was organized December 6, 2003 with 32 members and chartered one year later with 46 members. The organizing regent was Marilyn Steger Frazar. As of December 2007, the chapter has 77 members with two pending. This was the first chapter chartered in Fayette County and it chose Starr's Mill as its namesake because of its history. For a young chapter, it has won many awards at state conferences. In 2006, Frazar won first runner-up for Outstanding Regent at the Georgia Society State Conference. The chapter meets the second Monday of the month at 7 p.m. in members' homes. For membership information, call regent Carol Abadie at 770-632-9553. Genealogical assistance provided. • Moore graduates from UGA Lee Goddard Moore graduated cum laude from the University of Georgia on December 15, 2007, with a bachelor of arts in history (with a minor in sociology) and a bachelor of science in social studies education. Moore is a 2004 graduate of Fayette County High School. Moore is the child of Cindy and Lou Moore of Brooks, Ga. login to post comments |
