Miss Laura Elizabeth McGahey was married Aug. 11, 2007 to Mr. Charles Martin Van Pelt. The marriage was performed on Drake Field, Peachtree City, by the Rev. Jim Garner. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas B. McGahey III of Palm Coast, Fla., formerly of Peachtree City. She is the granddaughter of Thomas B. McGahey Jr. and the late Mrs. Mary Moore McGahey of Lakeland, Fla. and Mr. and Mrs. Bernard B. Dismukes of Savannah. She is a graduate of Birmingham-Southern College and is an information technology consultant. The groom is the son of Mrs. Linda Keever of Peachtree City and Charles G. Van Pelt of Jonesboro. He is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology and is an employee benefits specialist for The Standard Insurance Company. The bride wore a satin ivory gown and carried a bouquet of roses and hydrangea. Her veil was hand-made by her mother. Niki Oldham served as maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Mrs. Karla Granger, Mrs. Beth Hughes, Nancy Jones, Mrs. Laura Waldrop and Mrs. Caroline Walker, all sorority sisters. Caroline Van Hook, cousin of the groom, was the flower girl. The groom’s best man was Ryan Sampson of Charleston, South Carolina. The groomsmen were Todd Davis, Lance Edwards, Wes Horsford, Charlie Morris, and John Morris. After a honeymoon trip to Aruba, the couple now resides in Birmingham, Ala. login to post comments |
