Chiefs and Tigers win wrestling tournament titlesTue, 01/08/2008 - 3:18pm

McIntosh took first place in the Mark Toomey Invitational in Savannah. They had five first place finishers in the tournament. Wrestlers who placed in the top six of their respective weight classes for the Chiefs were: 103 112 119 130 145 152 171 189 215 285 Fayette County took first place in the Granger Invitational. The Tigers trailed Wesleyan by two points heading into the finals and consolation finals and swept their five matches to win. Wesleyan had won the Fayette County Christmas Classic the previous weekend. Wrestlers who placed in the top six for Fayette County were: 103 140 152 171 189 Fayette County will host the area duals this Friday and Saturday. Whitewater took fourth place in the Spartan Invitational in Alabama. Wrestlers who placed in the top four for Whitewater were: 103 145 160 171 189 215 285 Sandy Creek placed eighth in the LaGrange tournament. The Patriots had three wrestlers place in the event. 103 152 160 Sandy Creek will wrestle at Newnan this afternoon. They will host the area 6-AAA duals on Saturday at Flat Rock Middle School. Landmark Christian had two wrestlers place in the LaGrange tournament. 125 171 Starr’s Mill placed 13th in the Alexander Invitational. Wrestlers who placed in the top six of their respective weight classes for the Panthers were: 103 171 285 |
