An early afternoon call to Palmetto Police Dec. 28 about possible prowlers near Carlton Road led to the arrest of two juveniles less than an hour later.

Arrested in the incident on charges of burglary were two 14 year-old males from Palmetto, according to Det. John Cooper.

The incident occurred on Scott Circle off Carlton Road when a resident contacted police saying that two suspicious young males had been seen behind a neighborhood residence, Cooper said.

A check of the neighborhood by police revealed that a window in one of the residences was open. Officers surrounded the residence as Cooper peered through the window, observing two males inside the residence. The 14 year-olds fled and were initially able to elude officers who gave chase, Cooper said.

The flight by the teenagers was short-lived as Palmetto Police, assisted by Fulton County Police, identified the males some 40 minutes later on Carlton Road and took them into custody, said Cooper.

Cooper said nothing was stolen from the residence, though the screen on the window where the males entered was damaged.
