United States service men and women traveling through Atlanta will have a phone card that they can use to call loved ones back at home thanks to the generosity of Bennett’s Mill Middle students, faculty and parents.

The school’s Beta Club collected money to purchase the phone cards as well as created holiday greeting cards to make the season a little brighter for those soldiers who cannot be with their families this year.

The phone cards were donated to the Hartsfield USO. Captain Quellet of the New Hampshire National Guard, who is on his way back to Afghanistan and happened to be visiting the school the day the donation was made, received the first phone card. He also requested to take all of the holiday cards to his unit stationed in Afghanistan.
