It was a memorable year in football within the county, one in which a few players recently garnered all-state recognition.

Fayette County quarterback/cornerback Brandon Boykin and Whitewater linebacker Ryan Hidalgo
were named first-team all-state selections by sportswriters from all over Georgia.

Two other local players were named all-state honorable mention: Fayette County running back/safety Matt Daniels and Sandy Creek wide receiver Braxton Lane.
