Diane Kay Whittle, 74, Peachtree City, died Dec. 16,2007. She was born Oct. 22,1933 in Lima, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Banning and Helen Smith, of Lima. She received her B.S. degree in education from Ohio Northern University in 1956 and taught third grade in Lima. After marriage and her children were in school, she returned to teaching in special education. She enjoyed sewing and doing craft projects, as well as her church friends, and Bible studies at Peachtree United Methodist Church. Memorial services were at Peachtree City United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband Jerry M. Whittle, whom she married in July, 1957, Peachtree City; a brother, Thomas Smith, Scottsdale, Ariz.; sons, Gary Whittle, Atlanta, and Greg Whittle, Peachtree City; and grandsons, Austin Whittle and Connor Whittle. Memorial donations may be made to Peachtree City United Methodist Church for the Scout Lodge, 225 Robinson Road, Peachtree City, GA 30269 or the American Parkinson Disease Association, Inc., 135 Parkinson Ave., Staten Island, NY 10305.
