• Wozniak graduates from food service specialist training course

Army Reserve Pvt. John Wozniak III has graduated from the Food Service Specialist Advanced Individual Training course at Fort Lee, Petersburg, Va. The course is designed to train servicemembers to perform preliminary food preparation procedures according to Army production schedules and recipes; cook, bake and serve food in large and small quantities, field and garrison kitchen operations; and general operation of Army dining facilities, including cleaning and housekeeping, sanitation measures, and storage of subsistence items. Wozniak is the son of John and Zordelia Wozniak of Peachtree City, Ga. He is a 2007 graduate of Starr's Mill High School, Fayetteville, Ga.

• Dunham named to dean’s list

Ashley Anne Dunham was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2006 and spring 2007 semesters at Florida State University. She is a 2004 graduate of Starr's Mill High School and is currently a senior at FSU. Ashley is the daughter of Mike and Debbie Dunham. Ashley is waiting for placement for a spring internship, hopefully in the Atlanta area, and will then graduate in April.

• Neal graduates from basic combat training

Army Pfc. Willard R. Neal has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises. Neal is the grandson of Willard Neal Sr. of Fayetteville, Ga.

• Burton graduates from basic military training

Air Force Airman 1st Class Ross D. Burton has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations. Burton is a sophomore at Kennesaw State University, Kennesaw Georgia, and is stationed at Memphis Air National Guard. Burton is the son of Jalon Burton of Peachtree City, Ga. and Col. David Burton of Memphis, Tenn.
