The city of Senoia has completed budget work for the upcoming fiscal year.

The $2.1 million General Fund budget is an 8 percent increase over last year’s budget, but City administrator richard Ferry doesn’t see any significant purchases or personnel moves planned for 2008.

The budget does include a cost of living raise, which should be between 1.5 percent to 2 percent.

Earlier in the summer, the city decided not to roll back its millage rate of 6.11 mills.

“The city cannot afford to operate the budget with rolling back the millage rate,” he said.

Ferry recommended keeping the rate at 6.11 mills to help fund the programs for next year.
