Final Games began at 11 a.m. on Sunday morning with the 18U teams. The Blue Hypnotic took on the Black District V. Both teams showed good sportsmanship throughout the game. The Black had excellent defense and goaltending, and jumped ahead quickly. The Blue fought back but was not able to gain on the dominating Black Team. The final score ended in favor of the Black District V winning the 18U division with a score of 5 - 2. The Tournament continued with the final for 8U division. The Grey Knights took on the Red Devil Dogs. The 8U division plays across the rink instead of end to end and only plays two periods instead of three. The Grey Knights over powered the Red Devil Dogs right from the beginning. The Red managed to score two goals in the game but the Grey teams’ strength gave them the win with a score of 11 – 2. The Grey Knights were also undefeated throughout the regular season play. The early afternoon saw the final tournament game for the 10U teams. The Green Bulldozers played against the Red Nationals. Both teams came on strong but the Green Bulldozers gained the lead and won the 10U division with a score of 6 – 3. The 12U Division Champs were the Yellow Sting winning the game 5 – 1. At 4:05 p.m., the 14U teams of the Yellow Balls Of Fury and the Blue Storm began their fight for the 14U Trophy. The teams looked pretty evenly matched and no goals were scored until the Storm scored the first goal at 3:40 remaining in the first. Period two saw the Fury score and then apply a strong pressure scoring 2 more times ending the period 3 – 1. The third period saw the Storm inch closer to tying things up when they scored their second goal with seven minutes remaining. But the Fury came back strong and scored their fourth goal ending the third period and winning the 14U Championship. The adult leagues finished out the tournament weekend. First the Adult “B” (over 30) teams of the Blue Fighting Saints against the Red Raiders began their final game. The action started at 15 seconds into Period 1 when the Blue scored and then the Red tied it up immediately. No other goals were scored until 31 seconds remained and the Blue scored again ending period one, 2 – 1. Two Minutes into period two, the Red scored followed closely by the Blue scoring their third goal. Both teams were determined and put on the pressure. Blue tied the game up with 6 minutes remaining in the second. The third period was full of aggressive action by both teams, but no goals were scored and the game ended 4 – 2 for the Blue Fighting Saints winning the Adult “B” trophy. The last game of the tournament was between the Blue Nordiques and the Red Rockies in the Adult “A” division. Two minutes into period 1, the Blue scored the first goal and the period ended 1 – 0.
