Children’s Restoration Network’s (CRN) ‘12 Days of Caring’ campaign is collecting donated Christmas presents for more than 2,000 homeless children in metro Atlanta, including 40-50 children in three women's and children's shelters in Fayette and Coweta counties.

The public is encouraged to stop by any Dick’s Sporting Good store or School Box store, pick an ornament off a poster board stocking with a child’s name on one side and the child’s “wishes” on the other. Buy the gifts and then return them to the location they were picked up at. Or you can simply buy something that a child would like and drop it off of one of these locations. Items needed include new toys, gifts, games, books, board games, new clothing, shoes, winter clothing, cosmetics, ethnic dolls, cds, walkmen, alarm clocks, skateboards, bikes, watches, sports equipment and clothing, jewelry, diaries, mp3 players and many other items.

A Roswell-based charity now in its 17th year, CRN traditionally collects considerably more than is needed for the younger kids and considerably less than needed for the older kids, so please don’t forget the older kids. Gift cards from businesses such as Target, Old Navy and Wal-Mart are also needed and appreciated. Many of the older kids, ages 13 to 18, prefer clothing and shoes over anything else. Sizes especially needed are large to XXXL. Shoe sizes from adult 8 to 13.

Dick’s Sporting Goods in Fayetteville is located at 305 A Pavilion Parkway. In Coweta County, the School Box is located at 1108 Bullsboro Drive, Suite 1076 and Dick’s Sporting Goods is located at 382 Newnan Crossing Bypass. For more information call Jim Cox at 770-649-7117 or jim.cox@childrn.org.
