• Horne graduates from basic military training Air National Guard Airman John A. Horne has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations. In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force. He is the son of John Horne of Peachtree City, Ga. Horne is a 2007 graduate of Starr's Mill High School, Peachtree City. • Turner graduates from basic military training Air Force Airman Thomas A. Turner has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations. He is the son of Luanne Turner of Fayetteville, Ga., and grandson of Jo Bell of Marion, Ohio. Turner is a 2004 graduate of Fayette County High School, Fayetteville. • Goldsmith graduates from basic combat training Army Spec. Ryan A. Goldsmith has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises. He is the son of Deloris Cunningham of Fayetteville, Ga. Goldsmith received a bachelor's degree in 2006 from North Carolina A&T State University, Greensboro. • Coloney awarded silver pilot wings Second lieutenant Michael P. Coloney was awarded silver pilot wings upon his completion of U.S. Air Force Undergraduate Pilot Training (UPT) at Vance Air Force Base, Okla. He will continue further training at Vance in the Introduction to Fighter Fundamentals (IFF) program and then go on to F-16 Recurrent Training Unit (RTU) at Luke AFB, Ariz. in early 2008. Upon completion of RTU, he will be a combat fighter pilot with the 138th Fighter Wing, Tulsa Air National Guard flying F-16 C+ aircraft. Coloney is a 2000 graduate of McIntosh High School and 2005 graduate of Georgia State University. He is the son of (retired Delta Captain and former fighter pilot) Eric Coloney and Debbie Coloney of Peachtree City. • Orellana graduates from basic combat training Army Reserve Pvt. Juan V. Orellana has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
